Candace Lindemann

Candace Lindemann is a published children’s writer and educational consultant through her company, NaturallyEducational.com. She holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  She has created history, art history, social studies, and English language arts materials for the California PASS Program, Kaplan K-12, Pearson, Thomson, and others, and she has been published in Learning Through History, Calliope, Military Spouse Magazine, and on Education.com and AOL’s Holidash. Most recently, Candace has co-authored a book of local history for Arcadia Publishing.  Throughout her career as an educator, Candace has focused on serving traditionally under-served populations.  She actively volunteers her time as a tutor, social media adviser, and event organizer, independently and through service organizations such as the Junior League and military family services.

Online, Candace is an active member of the Mom Community. She is the co-editor of Mamanista.com, a popular parenting product review blog, co-founder of Bloganthropy.org, and the editor-in-chief of ArmyWivesLives.com. On Education.com, Candace serves as aJustAsk Expert and at LeapFrog’s community she is the Baby and Toddler Expert Blogger.  Since the early 1990s, Candace has participated in online social sites and her first professional writing job was a lifestyles proto-blog for a site for college students, called “The Gathering”.  Consulting on social media outreach has become an important part of her work for education and toy clients, including the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), Corolle, Toobeez, the National Center for Family Literacy (through Collective Bias), and others.

Following some time in Texas, supporting her active duty soldier, Candace returned with her family to their home state and currently lives on Long Island (in New York) with her husband, preschool-aged daughter, toddler son, and their two cats.  Her two kids are devoted practitioners of “attachment childing”, spending most of their day exploring the natural world with one or both of their parents.  While Candace’s university degrees prepared her for a careerineducation, she’s found that the best preparation for parenting is on the job training
